Ripple CFO Kristina Campbell Exits Leadership Role.

In a notable development for the cryptocurrency industry, Kristina Campbell, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Ripple Labs, has announced her departure from the company. Kristina’s departure marks the end of her tenure with Ripple, leaving a void in the company’s leadership.

A Memorable Journey at Ripple

Kristina Campbell had been with Ripple for over two years, contributing her expertise and leadership to the fintech firm. Her LinkedIn profile indicated that her employment at Ripple concluded in October. In her announcement, Kristina expressed gratitude for her time at Ripple, referring to it as “memorable.”

Before joining Ripple, Kristina served as the CFO of payments platform PayNearMe for more than four years. Her extensive experience in financial management made her a valuable asset to Ripple during her tenure.

Kristina Campbell’s Transition to Healthcare

In an intriguing career shift, Kristina Campbell revealed that she would be taking on a new role at the virtual healthcare provider Maven Clinic. She acknowledged that while healthcare is a complex and highly-regulated industry akin to fintech, it represents a new challenge for her.

Kristina Campbell’s departure from Ripple occurs amid the company’s ongoing legal battle with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The lawsuit, initiated in December 2020, revolves around allegations of Ripple using its XRP token to raise funds in violation of securities laws.

The legal battle has seen significant developments, including a federal judge’s ruling that XRP was not a security when sold to retail investors. This ruling was upheld in October following an appeal by the SEC, providing a degree of clarity on XRP’s regulatory status.
