Early Life and Education

She pursued her undergraduate studies at Colby College in Maine on a Davis-UWC Scholarship, participating in a dual degree program in engineering with Dartmouth College. Professional Career

Murati’s career began as an intern at Goldman Sachs in 2011. She then worked at Zodiac Aerospace before spending three years at Tesla as a senior product manager for the Model X. In 2018, she joined OpenAI, where she eventually became the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading the company’s work on ChatGPT, DALL-E, and Codex, and overseeing research, product, and safety teams​​.
