Chainlink’s LINK token has surged over 36%, reaching a two-year high of $26 during late trading on December 2, 2024. The token’s meteoric rise from below $11 in early November represents a 136% increase in just one month, with most gains occurring within the past 24 hours.

As of Tuesday morning’s Asian trading session, LINK cooled slightly to trade just above $24, according to data from Coingecko.

Partnership With 21X Fuels Growth

Chainlink’s recent price rally aligns with the announcement of a strategic partnership with Frankfurt-based fintech 21X. Together, they aim to develop Europe’s first EU-regulated tokenized securities market infrastructure.

Scheduled to launch in Q1 2025, the platform will operate under the supervision of Germany’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Key features include:

  • Secure Price Feeds: Leveraging Chainlink’s oracle technology for accurate market data.
  • Cross-Chain Interoperability: Using Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for seamless access across blockchain protocols.
  • Tokenized Securities: Facilitating issuance, trading, and settlement of tokenized stocks, bonds, and funds.

Max Heinzle, CEO of 21X, highlighted the significance of the collaboration, stating, “We are putting in place all the elements required to launch Europe’s first tokenized securities market infrastructure under the EU’s DLT Regime.”

Chainlink Labs’ Angie Walker emphasized that the partnership would bolster the institutional adoption of tokenized assets by ensuring reliability and interoperability.

TradFi Integration Boosts Confidence

The surge also coincides with renewed attention on Chainlink’s expanding ties with traditional finance (TradFi). In a retweeted blog post, Chainlink highlighted collaborations with financial giants like Swift, JPMorgan, Citi Group, and Fidelity.

Zach Rynes, a Chainlink ecosystem ambassador, added to the momentum by underscoring LINK’s deep integration with major financial institutions. In contrast, he labeled Ripple’s XRP as a “repackaged concept,” emphasizing LINK’s utility as a “bank coin.”

Future Outlook

Chainlink’s advancements in tokenized securities and robust TradFi partnerships position it as a key player in blockchain adoption for financial markets. The recent rally reflects growing investor confidence in its ecosystem and technology, with further developments anticipated as institutional adoption accelerates.
