Impressive Revenue and Earnings Growth

A key contributor to Alphabet’s performance was its Google Cloud segment, which saw revenues soar 35% year-on-year, totaling $11.4 billion. This growth stemmed from advancements in AI infrastructure and the company’s generative AI products.

Ahead of Big Tech Rivals

Alphabet’s strong Q3 results come just before earnings reports from other Big Tech companies. Meta and Microsoft will report on October 30, followed by Amazon and Apple on October 31. The so-called MAMAA stocks have gained substantial value this year, with all firms heavily investing in AI technologies and forming strategic partnerships.

In the third quarter, Google introduced its newest AI model, Gemini 1.5 Pro.. This model surpassed OpenAI’s GPT-4o in benchmarking tests. Pichai highlighted that AI is now part of Google’s coding processes, mentioning, “Currently, over a quarter of all new code at Google is generated by AI and subsequently reviewed and accepted by engineers, highlighting the technology’s significant impact on productivity.

Dominance in Advertising Revenue

Alphabet’s primary revenue driver remains its Google Ads business, which generated $65.86 billion in Q3. This reflects a 10.4% increase from the previous year. Google Search was the second-largest revenue source, bringing in $49.39 billion, marking a 10.9% increase from Q3 2023.

As Alphabet continues to leverage its AI capabilities, its strong performance highlights the growing importance of artificial intelligence in driving growth and maintaining a competitive edge in the tech landscape.
