Uniswap, the leading decentralized exchange, has set a new milestone. In November, it recorded $38 billion in trading volume across Ethereum layer-2 networks, according to Dune Analytics. This includes activity on Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, and Polygon.

The figure surpasses the previous record set in March by $4 billion, highlighting renewed interest in decentralized finance (DeFi) amid a broader market recovery.

Key Drivers: DeFi Revival and ETH Demand

Henrik Andersson, Chief Investment Officer at Apollo Crypto, links this surge to growing demand for assets and stablecoins within the DeFi sector. Speaking to Cointelegraph, he remarked, “This aligns with the DeFi renaissance and the recent increase in ETH/BTC. On-chain yields are also rising.”

Andersson believes this growth may signal a new phase of outperformance for Ethereum-based projects. He stated, “Whenever Bitcoin approaches $100k, Ethereum and DeFi tokens usually follow suit.”

Arbitrum led Uniswap’s performance across layer-2 solutions with $19.5 billion in monthly volume. Coinbase-incubated Base came next with $13 billion, showcasing strong adoption of these networks.

UNI Token Shines Amid DeFi Boom

Uniswap’s growing activity has also boosted its native token, UNI. Over the past week, UNI gained more than 42%, reaching $12.58 at the time of publication. In the last 24 hours, the token saw a 10% price increase, outperforming other decentralized exchange tokens.

In contrast, competitors like Solana-based Raydium (RAY) declined by 2.2%, while Jupiter (JUP) rose by 7.7%. UNI’s performance solidifies its status as the top-performing token in its category.

Uniswap Among Top Protocols by Fees

Uniswap’s success is not limited to trading volume. The platform generated over $90 million in fees last month, ranking as the sixth-largest protocol by revenue. This places it ahead of competitors such as Tron, Maker, and Solana’s Pump.fun launchpad.

The increase in fee revenue underscores Uniswap’s growing dominance in the DeFi space. Its reputation as a reliable platform for Ethereum layer-2 trading continues to strengthen.

A Bright Future for Ethereum Layer-2 Ecosystem

Uniswap’s record-breaking performance signals a broader resurgence in the Ethereum ecosystem. Rising on-chain yields and growing ETH demand suggest that DeFi projects could experience sustained growth in the coming months.

The platform’s remarkable activity on Arbitrum and Base highlights the growing adoption of Ethereum layer-2 solutions. These networks offer users faster and cheaper transactions, making them essential for the next wave of decentralized finance innovation.

As DeFi evolves, Uniswap’s ability to adapt and thrive positions it as a key player in the Ethereum layer-2 expansion. Its recent achievements reinforce its importance in driving the future of decentralized finance.
